Fitness Training for Older People
Professional Development Points (PDP): 3 PDP’s
Pre-Requisite: Certificate III in Fitness, Registered Fitness Instructor, Level 2 First Aid and CPR
(Please note: to register as a Fitness Trainer for Older People you need to have completed a Certificate IV in Fitness)
This course is for Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers that are working with older adults.

- Exercise Science anatomy and physiology and the older person
- OH&S
- New fitness testing protocols
- Developing fitness and strength training programs
- Core training, balance and flexibility
- Psychology and motivation and understanding the older person
- Exercise guidelines and modifications
- Chronic Illnesses
- Written and practical assessment
